Osmund “OD” Davis

Osmund “OD” Davis is entering his first year as Speed Development and Running Backs/Defensive Backs Coach for WCO70 Sports.  He is the Founder of Da Grind Training and Athletics, LLC, an elite training and athletic development program for youth and professional athletes.  He advocates for physical and mental health, ensuring that athletes are trained properly and providing every opportunity for them to excel in their fitness journey and competition.

Coach OD is a 2008 graduate of Hillside High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, track and field, and was very active in the Jr. ROTC, school newspaper and Student Government.  During that time, he was also a USA Track and Field Junior Olympics All-American (4x100m Relay, 2008). 

After graduation, he attended the College of the Canyons Junior College, majoring in Anthropology.  While there, he participated in both football and track and field.  He was coached by 3x Olympic medalist (4×400 meter relay), Denean Hill.  He would later earn All-American honors as a Defensive Back for the U.S. Army High School Football team. 

OD has extensive track and field coaching experience, as an Assistant Coach with the Triangle Champions Track Club (2010-2017) and Bull City Express Track Club (2016).  He has USATF Level 1 certifications in Basic Principles of Endurance Training and in Sports-Specific Strength and Power.  Privately, he has developed three Junior Olympics Gold Medalists:

  • Jaylen Wright: Southern High School (RB/Sprints, ’21), who ran NC’s fastest 55m dash time ever recorded his senior year.  He now plays running back for the University of Tennessee.
  • Alysia Johnson: Hillside High School (400m) who now runs for the University of South Carolina.
  •  Isaiah Southerland: C.E. Jordan High School (Sprints)
